Christmas in the Eyes of a Child
There is something about teddy bears that capture the hearts of kids and “kids-at-heart”. While teddy bears may only be a stuffed toy for some, it may mean more to others. These bears also represent joy, security and companionship.
Over the years, teddy bears have become a coping mechanism for children. They are considered as transitional objects that remind a child of their mother, especially when she is not present.
Most children these days usually ask for gadgets, mobile phones, action figures and dolls among others. But even with this high-tech toy phenomenon, there are some children who continuously have an appreciation for teddy bears and who would still be wishing for a bear to this Christmas season.
For children, receiving a gift, even if it is not a teddy bear, means that they are loved and cared for. Exchanging gifts has been a tradition that kids look forward to every Christmas, but not all kids are fortunate enough to enjoy this tradition. These children still wish to celebrate a happy Christmas and receive a special gift. Maybe we can make that wish come true for them.
This holiday season, SM Cares, SM Supermalls and Toy Kingdom invites everyone to share the joyful spirit of Christmas by donating a SM Bears of Joy to a child in need. This annual Christmas charity project will allow you to make this holiday season more special to unprivileged children across the country.
Christmas is for sharing love and happiness with the less fortunate – for only 200 pesos, you can buy two SM Bears of Joy – one bear to keep, while the other will be donated to the mall’s chosen charity. You can grab your bears until December 25, 2018 at select SM Supermalls and Toy Kingdom outlets nationwide.
With your generosity, no kid will be left empty-handed this Christmas! Share a bear this Christmas.
