At exactly 8:30 PM last March 30, 2019, all 72 malls across the country participated in the hour-long light-off in observance of Earth Hour – an initiative that aims to spark awareness about global warming and advocating for a healthy planet. Each mall also featured special activities to encourage tenants, shoppers, and mallgoers to participate in the global movement for Mother Earth.

“Switching off the lights for an hour is a symbolic act on how each individual has a powerful impact on the environment. SM’s annual celebration of Earth Hour is a time of reflection to re-commit ourselves to raise awareness in caring for the planet.” said Liza Silerio, SM Cares Program Director on the Environment and Sustainability.
